I am hoping you all are having an excellent Easter weekend. I know this Sunday update is a bit late, but I have been spending time with family since the moment I woke up. This was the first chance I've had to actually write.
And yes, I know I could have scheduled an update to publish today. I just didn't really think of it until late last night.
Today is a bit different. I am pushing this out to all of my followers because of the holiday. Normally, the Sunday updates are reserved for memberships.
Despair Heading to Chapter 2
If you don't know, I've been publishing a book reading on Saturdays of something I am currently writing on Wattpad. They are published on the YouTube channel and embedded in the Wattpad story.
At any rate, I am working on Episode 7 this week, which is the final section of the first chapter. Next week, I'll be working on Chapter 2, which brings a new spin on the tale and a few additions to the story arch.
I'm pretty excited about it, actually.
It's funny. In Despair, I had a couple of roles that were going to go nameless and just be a couple of one-off characters. But after writing the story, it seems their side of the tale isn't finished. You never know where a plot will take you until you start writing.
But, that's how I've always written stories. I don't pay attention to word count or pages. I'm done when the characters tell me it's done. And Despair is far from being over.
Scheduling More Goodies throughout the Week
So, I've done a bit of checking. And I'm still working on all of the ins-and-outs for Buy Me a Coffee benefits. However, I will start to roll out different types of content and materials for the varying membership levels this week.
For example, I might upload the next episode of Despair beforehand so members can view the video before it's actually published.
I'm also toying with adding the rough draft to each episode as an embed so you can watch me work on the tale. But, I'm also worried that someone might copy and publish the material on their own. We'll see, though. It seems this is a method that a lot of other writers and authors use.
It's still a work in progress. But I would love to build an interactive community and do something fun. Kind of like giving away a $150 gift card to Barnes & Noble.
Announcing the Giveaway Winner Tomorrow
Speaking of Barnes & Noble, The giveaway on WriterSanctuary.com ends today. So if you haven't submitted your entries, these are the last few hours.
Tomorrow, during the live stream at 7:30 pm Mountain Time (Denver), I'll announce the winner. And since there was such a much larger turnout than the last time I did a giveaway, I'm also going to give three people full membership access to Buy Me a Coffee.
Right now, I'm already starting to plan out the giveaway for the next milestone.
Perhaps we'll do something special when I am accepted into the YouTube Partnership Program...which should be in November or December, depending on whether I can keep the watch time trending upward.
Otherwise, we might have to do something special when WriterSanctuary.com hits 10,000 page views in a single month.
Needless to say, I am still planning on giving away more stuff this year.
A Quarter of the is Almost Gone!
With a quarter of the year behind us, I have strayed just a tad from a few goals. Namely, the one million word count and the weight loss. But, we still have plenty of 2021 to deal with.
I'd like to thank everyone who has followed, supported, chatted on the live stream, or otherwise interacted with WriterSanctuary one way or another. Without you guys, I doubt I would put in as much effort as I do to make things better for both the blog and the YouTube channel.
I appreciated each and every one of you and hope 2021 continues to be the best year for all of us!
