Barn Loft Studio: Dwarrowtober Fever and the largest Fanfic collection drop to date

Sep 30, 2021

Good morning! As I write this at my desk the sun is rising over the forest outside my window. The window is open just enough to catch the occasional whiff of autumn air and I am craving a pumpkin muffin with coffee. Here are some of the things going on at Writer's Haven this coming month, specifically the art being created in the little studio up in the barn. If you're looking for something a little less about my content and more about who I am as a person, check out my recent Coffee shop Conversations and Writer Musings. Everyone else, here's what's going on in the studio!

Current fanfic obsession: I've been creating an alarming amount of Hobbit fandom content, however my heart truly lies with Saving the Enemy, a Legolas x reader fic and the first of a series I'm currently developing.

Current movie/series obsession: At the moment, I'm kind of drifting in this area of my life. Last week I finally finished Downton Abbey (content reflection this soon to come) and realized that nothing else on my must-watch series list is quite at the level that Downton Abbey was and always will be. I suppose I'll just have to see where the current a.k.a. Amazon Prime series suggestions takes me...

Current writing quirk: I have nearly 50 drafts on my Tumblr app right now. Whenever I have an idea I start a rough draft, type out whatever it was that inspired me and sometimes spend a few minutes scrolling through gifs that would pair best with the content. It's so easy and so much fun. Definitely obsessed.

This month's coffee obsession: Still pumpkin spice lattes. I usually obsess over the pumpkin flavor until the Christmas flavors come out. Then I forget about pumpkin spice until the next year.

Current art obsession: College classes are well underway. It's all I can do just to create content for Tumblr. However, a life with school and no art would not be one worth living. Every page of my school notebooks contain everything from simple doodles to Hobbit fanfiction concept art.

Glimpse into November: I have plans to release at least two different series, potentially more. I also am considering if I should post the final installment on here for my followers to find and read for free. It's my dream to create a balance between Tumblr and Buy Me A Coffee, for Writer's Haven to become a space with members, extra content options and followers eager to help support my passion for writing.

Highlight of September: Finding the Dwarrowtober prompt list! I'm so very excited to start releasing daily content involving the handsome dwarrows of Tolkien's works. If it's well-received, I would be very interested in pursuing prompt lists more avidly. Perhaps creating daily, prompted content every other month? We shall see.

Thanks for stopping by!
