Stomping Grounds: Philly’s First Social Justice Café by YouthBuild

YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School’s mission is to empower young adults (18-20 year-olds) to develop skills and connect to opportunities by fostering an environment of love, support, and respect for their whole person. Students graduate high school and successfully transition to college and career as critically conscious leaders, committed to positive change for themselves and their communities.

Buying a Coffee for You, and YB:

By buying us a coffee too, you will be opting in to train and equip students to run Philly’s first Social Justice Café, located on Lancaster Ave. in West Philadelphia.

When we educate students we put into practice equity, visibility and community by acknowledging that our students come from unique backgrounds and communities. We also recognize that their communities have their own specific needs. It’s our responsibility to empower them as leaders and instill and develop their own commitments and core values.

The Business Administration programming that you’ll be supporting is rooted in bridging the gap between where students are and where they want to be. Your contribution will continue to create Young Professionals who are ready to transform the city of Philadelphia for the better.

Our Favorite Core Value:

Equity

The ability to instill fair access to resources and opportunity for all people regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, or other social identities. In most situations, it’s not more equality that people and communities need - it’s more equity.
