Practice vlog: Carefully testing a new fingering.
Aircraft manufacturers are constantly fine tuning every aspect of their design, building materials, software improvements, all for the reason of getting a tiny little percentage of fuel efficiency, it’s stability, and comfort.
If I see a new fingering that may improve on any of the above mentioned factors; I would give it a try, a fair try for at least a few days of many sessions. If the result is even only 1% better, it’s all gain for the present and for the future. If the result was worse; then I would have gained a new perspective on certain fingering principle; which would benefit my teaching. So at the end, it’s all gain.
As for the time spent ; it’s still much more worth while than sticking to a problematic fingering.
