Being green is absolutely Glamorous !
Here are some humble ways to recycle and reuse everyday
Paper bags - no brainer! - although there is still some concern about how much water and overall impact it has to make (recycle) paper , it is still better than plastic.
Say no to leather - I remember when I was a child having a leather bag or “ good quality shoes “ was a big deal.. and some very big brands even now use leather, and crocodile hide. ( I have nothing more to add to this one! ) :( intelligence must prevail.
Cloth bags- another winner! Honestly, there is so much glamour one can add to a cloth bag. I am grateful to some print on demand websites.. where you can literally have any print you want! - support a small business.. buy my designs on cloth bags :)
Responsible clothing - a lot of new brands now have some great Corporate Responsibility pages on their websites - Check out Primark, H&M and others.. they are changing..albeit slowly.. IT IS happening!
Also H &M ( you can return a bag of used clothes for $10 or €10 off on your next purchase! ) . There are many other companies but of course you will first find a lot of articles of the misdeeds! I humbly suggest we focus on efforts and carry on with the good work!
Lastly - I remember seeing an interview with the CEO of L’oreal, Jena Paul Agon, he laughed when Francine Lacqua asked him “what else are you doing for the animals and environment..?” and he laughed in disbelief.. saying “animal testing is a thing of the past.. we are fully focused on natural ingredients and lowering the carbon impact.”
I am optimistic change has started and I know it will continue if we keep the focus and strength to make the green choices over convenience.
