Shop Talk

Since February we’ve been sharing Shop Talk with a small group of friends and close colleagues. If you’ve received our posts by e-mail, it’s probably because someone on our team knows you personally and knows that you share our interest in expanding evidence-based health care.

In fact, we’re getting ready to launch a miniseries on telerehab for musculoskeletal disorders. It’s inspired by the newfound importance of telehealth for providing uninterrupted access to care despite the now longstanding need for physical distancing. We’ll ask,
“How well does telerehab work, for whom, and under what circumstances?”
Our answers will be based on the best, available evidence - not the evidence we wish we had. We’re happy to report that 9 systematic reviews already exist to help us answer our questions. The series will launch with a discussion of a recent article by Andrea Turolla and colleagues published in PTJ, the flagship journal of the American Physical Therapy Association (https://www.apta.org/).
