Servant? Or Son?

Servant? Or Son?

Jul 20, 2022

Much is made in Christian circles about being a good servant. Many say they long to hear those famous words, "Well done my good and faithful servant!" To be honest, we come by it honestly if we are a student of the New Testament and especially of the writings of Paul. But consider, at the time of many of Paul's writings, he had not been a Christian as long as many of us. (That offends my mind and my spirit.) All that to say, Paul didn't have it all figured out any more than we do, and we see him learning as he writes. But I digress. Let's consider something.

Your assignment on this earth requires you to be more than a servant.

A servant does not have the authority needed to be salt and light in the earth. Casting out demons, healing the sick, cleansing lepers, and raising the dead... all things commanded by Jesus, are impossible without an unquestionable authority. A servant's authority is ALWAYS questioned, especially on major transactions. No, when God designed His plan of redemption, He did it in such a way that His authority came alive within an ever-expanding family. Be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion. You have the checkbook, and you have my name by which to sign it. Oh, and have fun.
