A Trip to the Grocery Store

A Trip to the Grocery Store

Mar 16, 2022

I went to the grocery store today. I usually go every week on Saturday morning before it gets crazy busy. But, because of my fun with Rona, I haven't been in over a month. I don't know if it was the month or I'm just a little more hypersensitive to the economy, but I was really surprised in the price increases.

Since Rona, I've been really craving fruit. I couldn't believe how much fruit was! I also checked some prices on hygiene items and I was shocked at what I saw there too!

These prices are really going to hurt those that were already struggling financially.

On my way home I noticed that gas was $3.99. I know that many of you would love to have that price. But $3.99 is a .20 increase from last week. Oil has gone down in the last few days, so hopefully, that will help consumers at the pump. But will it really come down that much?

I've said it on the podcast and I'm going to say it again, we are headed for some pain. Preppers and those who are aware need to think about ways to save money and help their household budgets.

One way to do this is to buy items on sale now, that will only go up in price. Think about it. Whatever you spend now, will save you money in the future. The return will be more than your bank is offering you.

So for example, if you purchased a 12 pack of soap two years ago and it cost $6.29. And that pack of soap is now $12.19, think about how much you invested and saved! Actually, I'm not joking about those prices. This is very close to the shock I experienced today.

I wrote about this in my article called, "Hygiene Supplies – How Much Do You Really Need?" I hope you get a chance to read it, since it gives you an easy strategy to plan for your hygiene needs in the future.

I also recommend that you read a few articles from my friend PJ.

I would also encourage you to check out her online store where she offers a worksheet based on the book mentioned in the first article above. You can find that here.

Things are only going to get weirder as we continue on our current path. Steps that you can make now to help yourself and your family get better prepared will payoff big time.

Stay Prepped and Aware!

Peace,

Todd
