I hope you are doing great, and happy belated new year!
The latest post is the hike I did on Mt. Shishi (Stone Lion Mountain) and Mt. Shixiang (Stone Elephant Mountain) after the semi-lockdown was eased in Taiwan in September. As you can guess, the trail hadn't been hiked for more than 3 months, and nature had taken over the trail. It was supposed to be an easy hike, but the overgrown plants made it more fun to hike.
Nevertheless, the fantastic views on Mt. Shishi paid off. I could overlook the Max Sticky Rice Bridge, Cuigu Bridge, and Maling Bridge from Mt. Shishi. The layers of mountains in Keelung were also presented in front of me.
You can stop at Mt. Shishi and Mt. Shixiang and return to Cuigu Bridge. But if you take further to Mt. Gangkou, the views are also spectacular. After climbing up the treacherous slope, I saw Mt. Keelung, Mt. Canguanliao, and Mt. Teapot. Totally worth it.
Another bonus about this hike is enjoying street food in Qudi Market near the train station. You'll need to go to Qidu Train Station to transfer Keelung Bus 701 anyway, which is a great opportunity to enjoy the after-hike meal.
